The Della Clayton Lee Cultural Arts Series presents an evening of music with Daniel and Amy Carwile. From Celtic and old-time to bluegrass and swing, the Carwiles’ unique blend of music has been heard on the Grand Ole Opry and throughout the United States, Canada, and the British Isles. They have performed and/or rec...orded with artists such as Tim O’Brien, Sam Bush, Bela Fleck, Alison Krauss, The Moody Blues, The Battlefield Band, and Mark O’Connor. “They are two of the most accomplished musicians I have run across in a long time,” said Don Rigsby, head of the Kentucky Center for Traditional Music.
The Carwiles will be performing music from their latest CD, Col Arco (With the Bow), which climbed to #5 on the Folk/Acoustic Radio Charts. Featuring traditional tunes as well as pieces written by Daniel, the Carwiles showcase their versatility on fiddle, five-sting viola, piano, mandolin, guitars, and vocals.
The concert will be a return performance for Daniel, a native of Athens and former member of the Florence based band, Full Moon Ensemble.
Tickets are $7 at the door.

Hi there Daniel and Amy! We don't have cable and unfortunately can't get 46 very well on regular TV, but I found it on the KET website and watched the whole interview. It was really well done and they featured some great playing(of course) of both of you. It was especially interesting how the interview had a lot abo...ut teaching in it. I thought they balanced the performing side and teaching side well.
Hope to see you live this year! Caleb is a growing and very active little boy so we don't get out much.

I wanted you to know that Wilmore has a music festival every Saturday night during the summer months called the Stonebridge music festival. If you wanted to play at this (and even bring the kids to pl...ay) let me know and I'll get you in touch with the lady that is in charge. There is some type of payment, but I don't know the details.
