Daybreak Went to Tio's last night, it was surprisingly crowded for only being open a couple days. Try the Carne Asada, it's excellent! It looks like they are doing free Nachos for each table this week to celebrate their grand opening, be sure to stop by for lunch or dinner. We'll get some pics of the place up soon.

We went at 7 and waited 20 minutes at our table with no service! We ended up walking out due to a movie time. We will try again!

We tried Tios last night. We were very disappointed. Bland food and a dull staff. I hope other restaurants that come to Soda Row are better.

Daybreak The first of the new Siemens S70 train cars came off the assembly line in Sacramento a couple weeks ago destined for the Mid-Jordan line and Daybreak. Next, they will get shipped to Utah via flat bed rail car for testing on the actual rail line beginning in a couple weeks. Stay tuned for more info. We're getting closer every day to having TRAX in Daybreak!

Yippee! I'm excited about Trax in Daybreak!

I have to give props to UTA, though. The 327 bus goes right downtown quicker than I could drive it myself. I only wish it ran more often so we could take it for an evening.

Daybreak Lots of people take pictures of their new home as it's being built, so this is nothing new, but we happened across this very cool little "time-lapse-ish" video from photographer and Daybreak resident Jenny Bauman and had to share. Thanks Jenny, and congrats on your new place! It looks great!

Beginning in August 2009, we had a home built for us in Daybreak. It was fun taking pictures of the progression over the last few months, and it's great to finally be moved in!

It's the best 1/4, I'd say. It's the corner of our lot that I, uh,..... marked..... when we first bought the lot! hehe!

Everyone was talking about Tio's. I though where is that, and find out it is right under my nose. I can almost smell the burritos.

Will the trees only be there on Saturdays?

Unfortunately yes, the company that sells them can only staff it one day a week, and they figured that Saturday would be the busiest day so they went with that.

Daybreak As part of our collaboration with the LiveDaybreak Community Council, we've been working with local colleges and universities to bring continuing ed. courses to Daybreak. Art classes, Financial Literacy, Computer Software, etc. Not sure yet on any of the costs. These would be open to everyone--residents and non residen...ts. We wanted to see what types of classes or subjects people would be interested in. Thoughts?

Things are picking up. If you're coming in for a cut on Friday or Saturday please consider calling first for a same day appointment, so you make sure that you get in. Of course you're still welcome to just walk in.
It's also helpful if you call ahead if you want a shave.
