DESC applauds It’s a Grind Coffee Shop for its sustainable business practices. In addition to recycling paper and cardboard generated onsite, they also donate their used coffee grounds to Hope Garden and Our Savior Community Garden.
Twenty (20) 5-gallon buckets are donated monthly to be used in compost bins, mulch, f...ertilizer, as soil amendments. You can visit It’s a Grind by riding the DART Green Line to the Baylor Station. They are located on the platform as you exit the train.

Please join us for an afternoon of creative collaboration to design and map a series of urban community gardens within Deep Ellum.
The goal is to create a series of completely unique gardens throughout the neighborhood that match the eclectic, innovative and artistic history of Deep Ellum.
We will be exploring how to... implement: roof-top gardens, permaculture, organic gardening, keyhole gardens, hanging gardens, rain water harvesting, and many more topics.
We need your help to create the long term vision during the three hour workshop. Anyone and everyone is invited to join in.
Lunch will be provided.
