Karen Sams BTW - I will keep posting complaints to this page until someone at Dell contacts me to rectify this situation.

Karen Sams Dell customer service is TERRIBLE. I've only ever had bad experiences with Dell and urge others NEVER to buy a Dell computer. We recently bought my mother-in-law a Dell computer. Dell failed to send her the Microsoft Office CD so she couldn't register her product. When we called Dell, their response was "you're out of luck because 21 days have passed." We paid for Microsoft Office and Dell won't give us what we paid for. Absolutely unacceptable. Dell = daylight robbery.

I've had awesome service with Dell. The man I spoke to on the phone was very helpful and the man that came to my door to fix my laptop screen was very helpful as well.
I've had positive experience with Dell.
*thumbs up* to Dell Canada.

Ronda Collicutt I love my Dell Inspiron 1525 that I bought in February. I chose the Sunshine Yellow because yellow is my favorite color. However, the only thing I do not like about my laptop is that the yellow cover is not a glossy shiny yellow...it's a dull micro felt yellow. I was a bit disappointed that it was not glossy shiny.

Kris So I was watching a video on Youtube about the exposure of Lithium-Ion batteries to temperatures in excess of 60 Celcius a short time ago. I couldn't help but notice the placement on my 9 cell battery on my inspiron 9400 was rather close to that of my problematic exhaust port (yes, the one that never had the plastics removed from the vents)... As a direct result of this issue, my battery has been exposed to internal temperatures around 70 Celcius. Can I ask why in the hell I was told a replacement / resolution would take 15-20 business days?

Another question would be; Why does Dell Canada carry inferior products to Dell USA.
I was looking at the processors for Ubuntu laptops - they are no were close to the Inspiron 15n, sold by DELL USA. Dell Canada and Acer are just the same. Acer is even better coz the price tag matches the merchandise.

Vikta
hope you look into this. I was looking to buy Dell Inspirion 15n, the Ubuntu laptop. Guess what. Its not available with Dell Canada. So I contacted Dell USA - guess what again - they do not ship to Canada. To add insult to injury the DELL Canada sales person tried to sell me windows - if I wanted windows I go to Acer.
I do not mind paying extra for Ubuntu Linux. I am saying that your policy in Canada needs an upgrade. I wont be recommending Dell to any clients in the new future.
Your sincerely,
Ubuntu Lover.
PS:I already have your service failure on my blog.

I have recently bought Dell MINI XP. I have loaded UBUNTU (from USB stick) for fun. I could not find anything better than XP. Can you please let me know advantages of UBUNTU over XP? I sincerely want to experiment with Linux.

There used to be a Dell Laptop - Inspiron 1525 which was phased out and replaced by New Inspiron 15.
While Inspiron 1525 had all the slots like IEEE, HDMI, S Video etc, the New Inspiron 15 has none and is more expensive too. I don't know what makes Inspiron 15 with lesser slots more expensive than Inspiron 1525.
Could anyone from Dell please explain that please!!!
Dell Spot at 12:04pm July 7
Good question Jaspreet. Here's the reply I got from our product team.
Given todays market the Inspiron 1525 would sell for roughly $50 to $75 more than the new Inspiron. To reduce costs and achieve a more attractive price point (starting at $499) we had to remove some of the features mentioned. Most of these features are now available in our studio line with upgraded video and graphics options.

Margie Marraty I bought my first DELL in 2001 when the company was the very best at customer service, technical support & product quality... ordered a laptop for my daughter's graduation gift and it is delayed for a month!!! a month!!! I've been online reviewing message boards and customer complaints and now regret ever dealing with this company ....I cannot stress enough to ask about their policies...get it in writing before ever ordering from this "mail order company" ----shame on you Michael Dell.

Because the only way to post on here is to become a fan and as I stated in my post ......they used to be a great company. Hate is a very strong word Mr. Wilcox.....I prefer disappointed but this whole experience has left a very bad taste in my mouth regarding DELL and their "customer service". I certainly am not the only customer that has had a bad experience with them.
