The 17th Annual Eastern Shore Birding & Wildlife Festival celebrates the natural world that makes the Eastern Shore of Virginia -- and Delmarva in general -- so special. The hawk and owls seen here will be at the opening events in Onancock on the 17th. There will be other raptor demonstrations over the weekend, as well... as a packed schedule of things like songbird banding, bird identification workshops, butterfly walks, hikes through many different habitats, and eco boat and kayak tours. www.esvachamber.org for more info.
Delmarva Drives Author and web owner Fran Severn will be on the air on WGMD 92.7 in Rehoboth during their weekly live broadcast from Browseabout Books from 7-9 a.m. tomorrow. Delmarva Drives Every August for the past 138 years, St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cordova, MD has held a church supper and jousting tournament. This is ring jousting, in which a rider tries to spear a ring about an inch in diameter while galloping on a horse. It's as hard as it sounds, and it is exciting to watch!

Delmarva Drives Every August, the town of Snow Hill, MDl honors farmers with the Blessing of the Combines. In the way that fishing villages ask a blessing on their fleet, Snow Hill asks for safety of the massive machines and the families who bring in the harvest and for a bountiful harvest in response to their year of hard work.

Delmarva Drives A celebration of one of summer's most popular harvests. Really strange, since Blueberries don't grow on Chincoteague. How'd this happen? And remember, blueberries are healthy, so the ice cream, shortcake, and cobblers are health foods!
