Happy New Year from Discovery Depot!

Dear Family and Friends!

Andy, Tori and I cannot begin to say thank you for 2009! We feel very blessed by each of you that allow us to be a part of your children’s lives through toys, books, and games!

Many of you know, Andy, Tori, and I are very dedicated to the success of Discovery Depot and work really hard to provide you with the newest toys on the market. Since taking over the store in 2005, we had not taken a “family vacation” without doing any work. We felt it was long over due and so since Christmas Day we have been on a family vacation in Orlando, Fl. We have had an incredible time BUT we are ready to get back to the toys!

In fact, we are on track to make 2010 and even bigger and better year for the best toys in the Upper Cumberland.

The Candy Caboose will be closed from Jan. 1st thru the 21st as we work on improving
the experience at the best candy store in Cookeville.

Discovery Depot Hours starting Jan 2nd:
Monday-Friday 10:00-5:30 pm
Saturday 9:00-5:00 pm

Even though it dates me to say- I do! I remember grabbing the Wish Book, a pen and heading to my room to pick out everything I wanted for Christmas. I would circle all the things I wanted Santa to bring me: a new Madame Alexander doll, a school set, a new board game. Then I’d proudly hand it all circled and dog eared back to Mom and Dad.You may say to yourself, “Sherrie, where’s this trip down memory lane coming from, especially when it’s October 16th.” OK, I’ll tell you.

Yesterday, a couple came in from another town that had received Discovery Depot’s Holiday Catalog in the mail. The gentleman stated he tossed the magazine on the coffee table without a lot of thought. Later in the evening, his wife sat down and the catalog caught her eye. At that moment, memories of their children’s childhood rushed through their minds and they spent a wonderful evening remembering. The gentleman said they took the catalog to their grandchildren the next day and watched in the same way as years before as they circled and dog-eared the catalog. We drove to Cookeville, TN today to see the store that reminded us of such great memories.So, do you have a favorite memory from your Christmas past?
