For the record, we wish to make clear that the letter sent to ICANN by "The .SPORT Policy Advisory Council" is totally unrelated to our proposal.
In short, they ask ICANN to "ensure that individual sports not be introduced" as gTLDs because "PAC members reiterate their concern that ICANN may be prematurely entertaining... a process that will allow proliferation of names in sub-categories or individual sports"
We do not claim the overall property on dictionary words related to sport, as some do.

DotSport The ICANN Board has approved the concept of Expressions of Interest in new gTLDs. A plan has to be presented by the staff in february 2010 for approval, after community comments.
