Kiwanis Incredible Duck Splash

The Kiwanis Incredible Duck Splash (acronym "KIDS") was held for the first time in Glendale, California, on September 10, 2005, produced by the Kiwanis Club of Glendale. Over 30,000 yellow rubber ducks "race" to a finish line to earn automobiles, travel packages, and other great prizes for their "adoptive" owners, matc...hed by a unique number on a tag on the bottom of each duck.
The Glendale race producers created "Lake Glendale" which was again on display for the 2008 splash.

The beneficiaries of the charitable fundraising event are primarily children and youth in Glendale and neighboring cities throughout Los Angeles County. The participating non-profit organizations are listed at this website.


The second and third Annual Kiwanis Incredible Duck Splash events were incredibly fun, with entertainment, games, food & beverage, and the exciting races for super prizes at Verdugo Park, 1621 Canada Blvd (across the street from Glendale Community College).

10:00 a.m. Opening of games, concession stands, sponsor and duck buddy booths, entertainment

11:00 p.m. Second heat of duck race
11:30 p.m. The Corporate duck race
12:00 p.m. Third heat of duck race
12:30 p.m. Fourth heat of duck race
12:59 p.m. Close of adoptions
1:00 p.m. Fifth heat of duck race
1:05 p.m. The presentation of Duck Buddy checks to the nonprofit organizations & schools other than the top 5 in each group
1:30 p.m. The grand finale - the determination of winners
1:35 p.m. The presentation of Duck Buddy checks to the top 5 nonprofit organizations & top 5 schools
1:50 p.m. The announcement of race winners & presentation of prizes
1:59 p.m. The phone call to determine if we have a million dollar duck
2:00 p.m. Closing of the games and other quacktivities
