Eugene Water & Electric Board Energy savings in the Northwest reached a record level in 2008, according to just-released figures from the Northwest Power and Conservation Council. And how did people in the Northwest accomplish the big increase in energy efficiency? Most of the energy savings were the result of people replacing incandescent light bulbs with energy efficient compact fluorescent light bulbs in their homes and businesses.
