Earthjustice According to the Earth Policy Institute, every $1 billion we invest in coal-fired power plants creates 870 jobs while the same investment in photovoltaic cells creates 1,800 jobs; in solar thermal plants, 1,900 jobs; in wind energy, 3,300 jobs; and in building retrofits, 7,000 jobs.

Please stop cutting our worlds old growth forest before its to late, read below what happen to the ancient Nazca people of Peru when they did.

Nov. 2, 2009 -- The ancient Nazca people, who once flourished in the valleys of south coastal Peru, literally fell with the trees they chopped down, new research has concluded.Th...e Nazca caused their own collapse when they cleared their forests in order to make way for agriculture, thus exposing the landscape to wind and flood erosion, according to a study published in the journal Latin American Antiquity.Best known for carving hundreds of geometric lines and images of animals and birds in the Peruvian desert that are fully visible from the air, the Nazca flourished between the first century B.C. and the fifth century A.D. During these centuries they made sophisticated ceramics and textiles and amassed one of South America's largest collection of human trophy heads.Read More

I am newbie to this site, and have a couple of questions about the biofuels industry, and not sure of where to go for answers? The biofuels industry started out so strong, and popular in 2008. At that time crude oil prices reached $150.00+ a barrel. Since then Crude oil prices have declined to half that cost, and now a...verage just above $65.00 a barrel now. My question for this site, does biofuels industry still have a production plan, and do they include lobbyist in Washington DC, pushing their biofuels aggenda. Latest news out of Houston,Texas where the largest biofuels Refinery was located just filled for chapter 11 because demand is just not there or the capitol, for investment to keep it open. Believe me crude oil prices will be back over a $100.00 a barrel again not to far in the future.Read More

Earthjustice Today Earthjustice lined up alongside family farmers, consumers, farmworkers, fishermen, anti-hunger groups and a host of others in opposing the administration's selection of a pesticide industry insider to serve as our country's chief agricultural trade negotiator.

Deciding to oppose a nominee is not a decision we take lightly. But in this case it was the right thing to do.

Amen!! The Pesticide industry has MANY seats at the table. I have been researching Politicians in 'bed' with the Pesticide giants on opensecrets and Sunlight Foundation. It makes my head spin!! This has to stop!! Look into your favorite politicians and see how many are 'in' with the likes of Monsanto, Dow, FMC, Syngenta, Huntsman etc... DeLauro, Baucus, McCain, Obama, and the lists go on and on...Sick!

Just showing up is not leading the way. Drastic measures must be taken now, before it truly is too late.
