End Tiger Trade Tigers aren't safe anywhere. On Aug 22, zoo officials in Jambi's Taman Rimboo Zoo discovered that Sheila, the Sumatran tiger, had been killed and skinned on zoo grounds after being drugged by poachers, leaving virtually nothing behind except the innards and a few ribs of the animal.

Tiger trade is prohibited internationally and banned domestically in all of its range countries, including China - historically the largest market for tiger products. These bans have successfully shut down tiger trade and nearly extinguished demand.
