The liberal in congress want to get cap and tax in place before they open anything. Plus the lobbyists that wasn't going to be in the white house are in. In 1998 the Clinton's got the roadless act of 1998 witch shutdown logging in U.S.Forest service lands. The greenies want to shutdown are country. They mask it all as saving the planet. They are trying to shutdown the oil and gas industry.

It's not like the drilling crews attempt drilling through living creatures. Not every square mile is covered in machinery! There has to be ways that both preserve the beautiful landscape and creatures of Alaska while also aiding American citizens. I don't see why people raise such a giant stick about it. The easy choice is drill!

Well. The thinkers up in DC have just set aside 200,000 square miles for the polar bears, effectively shutting off access to future oil deposits.

It is time to drill off the Florida coast. Put the rigs 50 to 100 miles out, you won't see them from your patio. Also it is a two fold win. Future independence from the others we give BILLIONS too ... Read Moreand a habitat for large pelagic fish species.

Can anyone answer me this? When was the last time an oil rig had an incident causing major pollution? There is more pollution and environmental damage from manufacturing green cars, ie. Prius. Mining for the nickel required for the batteries among other minerals destroys vast acres of land.
