2nd place doesn't qualify but we still have to play Greece at home.

I don't think Pearce should be in the job.
He's not getting the players to play the right way. Since he took over the team has played counter attack football mixed with long ball stuff. Results don't mean as much at this level.
It's about getting players to play the right way and he is failing them with his terrible tactics and poor organisation.... Read More
We have the players to get results playing a certain way but it's pointless doing this because they are not playing a style that is going to work at senior level against good teams.

Only the FA would hire a man that failed so badly at club level that nobody else would want him. We don't just need Capello we need good coaches at all levels and we don't have that.

Mr. Smith, Stuart Pearce has one of the best records as U-21 coach. Just look at it, he took over in Feb 2007, 3 months before the Euro, barely had time to aquaint himself with the players before such a major tournament, faced the withdrawal of his best players (Bentley, Agbonlahor, Walcott) and still brought them to the semi-final.
In Sweden this year,he brought a squad decimated by injuries to most of its first team players and still made it to the final. He has done a brilliant job and will be manager of the senior team one day!
AS for teaching them how to play, anyone who still thinks that all-out attacking football is the way to play these days is simply out of touch with the modern game.
A tight defense, a well-organised passing game, and efective counter-attacking know-how is the best way to win a game that's close between two world-class teams.
England's teams have always been based on a tight defense, so let's keep it that way. ... Read More
I'm sorry, but it is the basics of football, you build your team from the back.

Cleverley wouldn't play as a forward. More of a right sided option who links midfield. Hines plays more attacking. They can fluidly (Cleverley, Hines and Delph) switch places too.

Leaving Lansbury to sit a little deeper and use his passing range and Muamba protects the back four and breaks up play.

Why isn't Alex Smithies in the squad?
Starting at 19 and doing well at Huddersfield.
Get Henri Lansbury in the squad too.
He was excellent at U17 and U19 level so deserves a chance now he's playing first team football at Watford.
Sort it out Pearce!
