We are actively looking for ways to protect the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) from staff losses. Environmental Advocates has found some revenue raisers that might help and we've sent these ideas to the Division of Budget. These include cutting the tax breaks on dirty bunker fuel and increasing fees for gas and oil well drilling, you can read more in our "$aving Green" report on our webpage: www.eany.org.
