If these innovations can be CAR innovations, I want to see a more practical electric car. I hear that Fisker Automotive is planning on an all electric sedan that they say can get a full charge in under an hour and if you're on a road trip or have to drive farther than a single charge can take you the batter(y/ies) can be easily swapped so that ... See Moreinstead of gas stations, you have battery stations. You pull in, take out the old batteries, put in the new ones, and you're on your way again in about the same amount of time it takes to fill up a tank of gas. This comes from a small "premium sports car" company based in California, so I know the others can do it, too. And yes, I am a huge gear head that would know about this :)
