Thank goodness I don't pet fish, oysters or clams! They are so yummy ... and nutritious! I wonder how my great grand parents did it since they raised dairy cattle but yet they ate beef. Isn't that strange?

I am so tired of the bantering back and forth on healthcare reform. Bottom line, it all starts in two places, the government's food policy and the dinner table!

Thank you Robert and Joel... and Martha Stewart for showing airing this... in the middle of watching it on pay per view right now and am in shock...baffled...and angry all at the same time... we need to all help to make the change to this industry.

I just caught the interview too w/ Martha. (martha rocks!) I am so siked that our food system problems are being brought out into the open! Many health problems are linked to the foods we eat. Hope the public library gets the dvd soon

I think it's great the movie is raising these issues for discussion. Keep it up Chris. Has anyone done a study of of the CO2 and other GHGs profile of truly native grassland with native wildlife compared to the same land with grass fed beef? If bison (thank you Heather) eat the grass or cattle eat the grass. What is the difference? I'll have to look up that article you mentioned Chris.

Local food isn't just sustainable... it's also a matter of national security. In case of attack or even pandemic, supply chains might be disrupted. Victory gardens allow us to be independent to some degree and be able to feed ourselves, even when supply chains are not working. It's why Churchill started Victory Gardens in the UK during WWII. Still makes sense to me!

Brittney, even if the food wasn't worrisome in that we have no clue how these crops will interact within the natural biosphere, small farmers have been victimized, sued and run out of business by large corporations when the corporations 'patented' seeds end up in their fields.
