Worth the read; a well-argued counterpoint to those convinced of rapid American decline. Yet there is a valid concern that it misses: that the US is successful - but not particularly efficient - in turning our predominant position into influence. It is time to actively cultivate skill and subtlety as a necessary complement to our overwhelming resources.

Actually, M.Karlioglu, the treaties of Rome stipulate that any country on the European continent, if willing, can make a request to join the EU. So to join the EU, a country has to be a part of the European continent making your argument « Turkey don't want to be a part of the European continent» invalid.
