It seems to me that just pumping our waste underground lacks creativity and can be analagous to a ostrich burying its head to avoid trouble. I hope that chemical processing of CO2 shows enough promise that we do not need to use geologic storage as a sole method.
In my research into changing CO2 to Carbonates, the carbonates I did a cost analysis... Read More of have the problem that the cost of the chemical to be combined with the CO2 is more expensive, on a smal scale, than the market value of the carbonate. If I had more resources I might be able to remedy this.

Apologies for an incomplete post. I was interupted. I do not know if these posts are seen by The DOE, if so I would urge them to develop/deploy long term monitoring devices for the conditions after injection.

I really wanted to participate in this. Unfortunatly I am only a one person business currently, and could not process all of the paperwork in time. To those who were awarded, I wish you great success, and multiple faceted applications.

I just wanted to mention that I have been trying to devise methods to combine CO2 chemical capture with H2SO4 and HNO3 production from Acid Rain treatment, with limited/no success. I am writing this in hopes that people with more injenuity (sp?) can find a melding of technologies. I am moving on to other persuits.
