The French Blue FRENCH BLUE REVIEW FROM AMAZON TOP 100 REVIEWER "In the tradition of Clavell – a book you never want to end..., "I love historical fiction; I love jewelry; I love hefty books that you can "live with" for awhile. This book has all of that and so much more. Like Clavell novels, Shogun, this book... introduces you to characters that become part of your life. mAhler 2nd, Amazon Top 100 Review

The French Blue Great review of The French Blue by Jeremy Shepard on Pearl_Guide

"I was fortunate enough to get an early Kindle edition of Richard
Wise’s newest masterpiece The French Blue. I also own a copy of Wise’s
Secrets of the Gem Trade, and it is one of the very few gem books that
I’ve read cover to cover, not just skipping ahead ...to the sections about
pearls.
The French Blue is a completely different kind of work. It is a
novel that begs to be read slowly, but once one becomes entranced in
the story, it is nearly impossible to put down. Not for the faint of
heart, it boasts approximately 600 pages of engrossing story telling."

The French Blue Well, what a rush, two 15 minute segments on JTV and a SELLOUT. They had 75 people answering the phones and the books moved out so fast it was hard to follow. Got to say thanks to Mandy, Tommy and especially Adam. Not only did they sell all the hardcovers but a number of copies of my Secrets Of The Gem Trade as well.

It was great meeting you when you visited us at JTV, Richard. It's supposed to be sunny and 70 degrees in Knoxville, TN this weekend so I have a date with your book, The French Blue, and my hammock! :o)

Garry Holloway

Garry Holloway It certainly is a great story. Richard what did you think of the reply (weak?) to Sergey's criticism of the G&G article? http://www.gia.edu/research-resources/gems-gemology/issues/summer2009-contents/SU09LT2.pdf

it is the second comment after Tom Tashey's one on fluoro in colour grading.

Amy Judd I found the book to be a great adventure story, full of great characters, strong men, ageless beautiful women, and gorgeous jewels and almost all the bad guys get what's coming to them - what's not to like?
