I jotted down a poem. you can check it also on
http://odrf-sangha.blogspot.com/
you are ambedkarite then raise your voice,
don’t give up your rights raise your voice,
that’s not your god who created,
your dalit destiny,
man is his own creator,
master of his own destiny,
do have a reality check
see your ardent Buddhist mate
succeed far beyond the rest
whats dragging you behind,
is you and your own mind,
if one man can do it,
you too can do it,
don’t complain later,
come together follow dr. ambedkar,
arise, awake and gain buddhist sight,
to conquer the caste might,
to overcome your past atrocity,
see right into future possibility,
be educated, united and agitate,
nothing else could mitigate.

Jeff Capenos Hello all, I use to attend sittings, teachings and discussions with the group in Bury St. Edmunds back in 1997 and 1998. What a wonderful sangha that was (maybe still is.) I was wondering if there was anyone from that time and place in this group? With metta to all -- Jeff

if anyone has any spare money... LBC has been building a new space for the outreach programme "Breathing Space" which hosts carer support and coures for depression addiction and bereavenment. near to completion there has been a flood which is costing a lot of extra money, as well as a fire. cheques to London Buddhist Centre would be warmly recieved, as would any devotional practice towards our local demons!
personally i was struck that the builders held the centre in such good esteem that they worked through the night to dismantle the scaffolding so that thames water could get the access they needed.

Marlene MacIsaac Thanks. I just finished 11 weeks of classes on intro to meditation and Buddhism at my local FWBO centre and I really enjoyed it. But I'm wary... so glad to hear positive feedback from you two.

i wish someone would make that wikipedia article a bit more balanced.
i have been going to London Buddhist Centre for four years, and i have not experienced either sexism or any frisson of cultism.
i believe there was some controversy some time ago surrounding a book which i have not read, called 'women, men, and angels'. i have never read it because i have not taste for the ecumenical, and am more interested in direct experience. the experience i have had learning meditation at LBC has been both gentle and powerful and i would recommend it to anyone.
