Acme Township, with support form GTRLC, protects 2nd Farm!

The 75-acre Send Brothers Farm along Bates Road in Acme Township was forever preserved by Acme Township's purchase of a permanent Agricultural Conservation Easement last week. The property includes approximately 8 acres of rich conifer swamp in the Petobago Cree...k watershed that was also preserved through the purchase.

The Send Brothers are renowned as producers of the area's fabulous sunflowers which are processed into bird seed and sold out of their farm market on M-72.

Angie says: "Last night [we] walked the trail at Reffitt and the plants are putting on quite a show…(was very excited to see the orchid).
Also, Joe-pye weed, boneset, kalm’s st. johnswort, swamp candles, and others, were all in flower or close to flowering."
