Gordon, Has been a great inspiration to many, and congratulations to you sir
for a very long overdue well deserved award. Thanks for showing us less is more. Peter

Ricardo Sarmiento It's because of Gordon Willis' work on The Godfather films that I chose to devote my life to working in film, and become a cinematographer. Eighteen years later, I know I made the right decision. Mr Willis thank you for sharing your gift with the world and inspiring me to follow my dreams.

Robert Markowitz Congratulations to the man whose eyes paved the way for all who followed.

Shaun Considine
I'm a journalist, photographer and author ("Mad As Hell - the Life and Work
of Paddy Chayefksy"). First filming I ever wrote about was "The Landlord," in Brooklyn. Later "Up the Sandbox" in Central Park, wherein Gordon Willis kindly gave me my first insights into film lighting. Later had the pleasure of covering "Go...dfather II" and "Manhattan" (photos on my website). Have a question for Mr. Willis and wonder if he could email me at shaunconsidine@aol.com. As for the recent Oscar - at last - the AMPAS acknowledgement and honor all of were waiting to be given to him back in the 1970s.

I worked with Gordon early in my career, on Up the Sandbox. He was an inspiration and even in that short time, I learned a lot that I still use.
It's wonderful that he's finally been honored by the Academy.

Alexandra von Immerblau Congratulations Maestro! Studying The Parallax View. What lenses were used? Are they C-Series?

Edward Do one more Gordie ... we need you.

Patrick Congratulations Gordon.

Allan Wertheim I worked with Gordon way back when he was an assistant cameraman and I worked as a assitant director on one of his early films. He was a master even then. The Academy always had a bias toward New York cinematographers. I am very happy that Gordon finally got what was long overdue to him.

Christopher Dalrymple It's about time!!

David I agree, an honour long overdue and more than well deserved. Congratulations and thank you for the beautiful pictures you gave us!

Director of Photography Gordon Willis, ASC yesterday finally got his well deserved Oscar for lifetime career achievements at the Governors Awards ceremony in Los Angeles. The Oscar recognition escaped him persistently and rather ridiculously while he was an active professional...

Susan Danzig Congratulations, Gordie!!
