It's depressing to see how special interest groups, political perverts and imbeciles can take an issue as fundamental as accessibility to health care and make it Kafkaesque.

This whole infuriating process shows just how broken our governmental process including the third estate is.

I feel much calmer for having read your column, Gail. But, I have a long, long way to go before I can handle this mess without spending some quality time with Sam Adams, brewer and partiot.

Gosh, I wish there was a "fact-check" filter on our TV's like there is a spell-check button on our computers...with a fact-check filter, a viewer would never make it through a FOX news episode with all the unfactual stuff they spew! Sadly, so many viewers love that stuff regardless of factuality...

Love the ending of this piece. Gail says, "Personally, in these moments of crisis, I generally recommend looking to see where Joe Lieberman is going. Then head the other way." Such good advice!

Column duty is important. Book tours would be a change, but you should save most of them until retirement.

Living in Canada, I am out of touch with mainstream America. I'd like to thank Gail for the information that Andy Williams is still alive and that he thinks that Obama is applying Marxist theory. It's difficult to know what to say in response. Maybe if I had a vinyl copy of Moon River, I'd try to play it backwards to see if it contained a hidden message.
