Gavin Newsom Tomorrow, when you get to your Muni stop for your morning commute, you will see a new Muni system. We hope you will find less crowded vehicles running on an improved transit system. Please check www.sfmta.com or call 311 for complete information on the service changes.

We are also enhancing service on many of the busiest routes. The new system is the result of the largest Muni route overhaul in a generation, which impacts 60 percent of all bus routes and one light-rail line.

Gavin Newsom Mayor Newsom just posted a blog on a San Francisco program, JobsNowSF that is putting San Franciscans back to work using federal stimulus dollars. Other cities should implement similar public-private partnerships in their cities.

bit.ly
In San Francisco, we're already delivering solutions with a public-private partnership that is showing immediate, demonstrable results. More than 1,000 San Franciscans are now employed, thanks to JobsNowSF, a citywide program that provides federal stimulus dollars to businesses that hire local resid...

Gavin Newsom San Francisco is transforming the way government operates by opening up the City's data with http://datasf.org/. Others cities should do the same. It is the public's data.

www.huffingtonpost.com
What happens when a city releases public data for anybody to use? The city becomes a better place to live. San Francisco is lucky to have a mayor like Gavin Newsom who has taken the data liberation movement seriously. Both stick and carrot are used to encourage data sharing. As a stick, he has given...

Health experts say it would be great if national health reform legislation would render San Francisco's groundbreaking health program unnecessary - but they don't see that happening anytime soon.

Gavin Newsom More than two-thirds of those previously uninsurend in San Francisco are now covered by San Franicsco's universal health care program.

SAN FRANCISCO — This city did not wait for Washington's health care overhaul. Most uninsured adults here are already reaping the benefits of a government-run health care program — seeing doctors, filling prescriptions, and getting surgeries they could not otherwise afford.

I am a great supporter of Gavin Newsom and I'm sure his withdrawal was calculated and a carefully thought out decision. I do beleive that his run for governor is pre mature at this time and he does yet to improve the condiitons (homelessness, crime, muni etc etc) for San Francisco. A big improvement on these issues I believe will place him in a very favorable position to run for Governor, And when he is ready He will be AWESOME!!!!
