Kudos & blessings Justin as you continue to build bridges in this manner. Kudos also toJoe Q. for putting together what appears to have beeen a successful conference. As I posted earlier in a comment to the Denver Post, this is exactly the kind of New Testament church we should be seeing more of in the 21st Century.

I know it doesn't exactly relate to the topic above, but just found this group and am trying to understand everything it does. I have a question that I didn't think was clear in the mission or the blurb about not debating the rightness or wrongness of homosexuality. So...essentially this group has no position on whether or not we should have civil rights..is that true?

Gay Christian Network New GCN Radio: Is the church losing relevance in our modern culture? http://www.gaychristian.net/gcnradio

The church will ALWAYS be relevant as long as God wants it to be. The trick is: LISTENING to the Holy Spirit, Following Christ's example of Love, and keeping our human hate, prejudice and fear in check. The Church's relevance is challenged when the powers of divisiveness and fear are allowed to take root.

Posted in Vol. 12 No. 2 issure of Cutting Edge: "Cultural Rel. does not nec. mean that our msg. will be rec'd with joy. No one in history was more cul. rel. than Jesus, but..this..got him crucified. The problem they (mod. society) have with us is when we clearly say that the cross is the power of human transformation. So don't think that...when ... "If churches want to have a prophetic voice in the wider culture, they must never become comfortable with injustice...until chuches deal with social questions as spiritual questions, their witness would never be credible." ~Caleb Maskell
**Let's pray that the Vineyard Churches' leadership will see that not affirming Chr. LGBTs is another form of injustice!

Particularly since the ministry crosses denominational lines and allows for "both sides" of the issue, as in celibacy (which is official Catholic teaching) and non-celibacy, which for many, at least in my view, keeps people more grounded and closer to God than trying to live a life which does not suit them well. Catholics would then call that the... Read More "least evil" choice rather than officially accepting it, but if they kicked out all the LGBT folks, the priest crisis would skyrocket! And yes, there is a gift to it as well--we are given perceptions that others who happen to be straight simply do not have. Anyway that is my take on it as a Catechisim believing Catholic! There is room for us all.

I agree with Catherine on this one. Being gay IS a gift! For the most part, the unbelieving population of gay people just views Christianity as only rejection, nobody is preaching love anymore. So as a gay guy who also has been saved by the blood, I believe that I have the ability, and the call to minister to those who probably wouldn't listen to a straight Christian.
