Get-it-done Guy
I started celebrating the Friday before last, because I thought manuscript done meant work was done. Nope. We had a full round of edits to go. Just finished up all the edits and the book's off to the copy-editor's desk. My part--the hard writing part, at least--is over! Yippee! That light at the end of the tunnel is ev...en closer, now. It's pretty. It could be light filtering through a glass of Dom Perignon.Read More

Get-it-done Guy Six weeks of book mono-tasking-focus & flow was WONDERFUL. Multi-tasking today felt draining/scattered. FOCUS RULES! (as my book will discuss). The manuscript is done and we're in the 2nd-to-last editing pass. The book goes to copy-editing next week, so the end of my intense writing involvement is very much in sight. The light at the end of the tunnel is hopefully the light on the set of Oprah.

Get-it-done Guy I've breathed a huge sigh of relief. My manuscript went off to the editor Friday. Today I'm supposedly resting and relaxing. Looking around, the office is a disaster area. Two more action days this coming week to start bringing my life back into a semblance of normalcy after 18 months of writing. Join me Thursday 11/5 or Friday 11/6: http://actionday1105.eventbrite.com or http://actionday1106.eventbrite.com

Get-it-done Guy Book theme: know why you do what you do, and make sure it's a purpose you want. I envy people with bigger media presence, or better credentials. # But why? What do I think is better about their lives than my own? Do I think they have more fun? More money? More respect? It's weird to realize my envy is more conditioned by media/society/self rather than being connected to any actual outcome.

Get-it-done Guy Still room in Action Days this week! Come play (more accurately, come help hold *ME* accountable for finishing my book)! http://actionday1013.eventbrite.com for Tuesday, 1014 for Wednesday, 1015 for Thursday, 1016 for friday. What's an action day? See: http://is.gd/3R9W0

Get-it-done Guy Short-term vs. long-term. Cheap socks may be better in the short term, but they stretch & need replacing way too soon.

Get-it-done Guy I'm going to take my editor's advice (like I have a choice?) and remove two major book chapters and use them for some Future Purpose. They'll probably become a standalone eBook, or the foundation for a giveaway product, or maybe an audiobook or ... The good news is that I am really prolific when it comes to creating content. Now if I could just get good at the monetizing part, I'd have a career!

Get-it-done Guy Action days, action days, and still more action days! They're working so well helping me get my book done that I'm having them again next week. http://actionday1005.eventbrite.com, http://actionday1006.eventbrite.com, etc. all the way to actionday1009.

My hair is on its way back to its original color. This cut is shorter on the sides and longer on top, like my avatar.
See? I listen to my fans. They said "Stever, you should be more animated." Voila!

Get-it-done Guy Tomorrow's episode is the first one so far that in some sense is about working more and doing less. If your management won't do their job well, sometimes your only recourse is to work around them in a way that really wastes everyone's time and effort :-(
