On Nov. 2, 2009, a group of musicians from Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Guatemala gathered in Managua, Nicaragua, to begin intensive training in worship and church music. Their local church colleagues, Christian educators and pastors, joined them on Nov. 9 for a week of multi-disciplinary training in Christian... education, church music, preaching, sacraments, and worship. This exciting pilot program, sponsored by the General Board of Global Ministries, built upon previous leadership training events developed by the Global Praise program. Each of the leaders participated in plenary sessions, worship, and specific classes in their area to develop their individual skills. A specific focus of the second week was developing curriculum for children, certification classes in preaching and the sacraments, as well as developing and experiencing models for working together as multi-disciplinary worship teams.
