Another thing I want to discuss is the immense corruption at the regional level. There are TONS of horror stores about employee theft and how they give themselves steep discounts and re-sell the items themselves while sorting through and pricing items. IMO, theft is unethical in any corporation and the GW should not be... absolved from doing what right and helping their community. You use helping the poor as you platform, well maybe try pricing items so that the poor can actually afford them.Read More

I get that you're a "non-profit" helping the unemployed, but if someone isn't there to serve the poor with reasonable prices, then where do they shop?Often times items are priced higher than retail and junk items sit on the floor for several mos, while quality items are thrown straight into the dumpster daily w/o even ...looking at them. Wouldn't it make more sense to actually weed out the junk, sell quality items cheap for quick sale, then move the new inventory in quickly, and cut dumpster costs. Not only does this help the poor, it cuts down on the wastefulness of throwing out quality goods, attracts new buyers/helps the poor, and actually makes more money for YOU by generating more sales. I also get that you sell 90% of the clothing by the ton overseas, but why not help the poro in your own community? What good does an overpriced used item do if it never sells, you get it free anyway, + you get free work from gov sanctioned employees, so why not give a little???Read More
Katherine Michaud I took my little girl shopping at Goodwill in Frederick, MD, yesterday to get some books to read to her. Picked up 10 great ones and had to force myself to stop. Could have been there for hours. Excellent selection!

My wife & I like to go to as many Goodwill stores as we can fit in on Sundays and rescue (buy) figurines. We live south of San Antonio so that is where we shop. Last week we took to the road and visited several stores way outside the San Antonio area, loved them all except the one in San Marcos. The San Marcos store wa...s very neat and clean however their prices matched retail for new products on many items. They were excessively overpriced. On the positive side workers were very friendly and the store was very well organized.Read More

Connie Karpowicz i shop in colorado springs, but it doesn't matter much which state you live in or which thrift store you go to they all are charging crazy prices. Iknow of a store that is asking 99.00 for a pair of retro levis.
