Jody What about Canada? I'm a Grade 6 English teacher at an all boys' private school in Vancouver. Would love to see you! Come for the Olympics!

Melissa Wish you were touring in Florida! Hey it's getting colder in other parts of the country, but we're warm and sunny here. Please consider it! (Sarasota, FL is a perfect destination for writers some don't consider.)

Andy My favorite Simpsons neologism: carhole.

Tom I finished the audio version of your book today. I never expected a book about writing to be so entertaining. Long live Aardvark and Squigly!

Harold Top Simpsons neologisms for me include the afforementioned "yoink," "craptacular," the month of Smarch, and, of course, Ralph's famous "Me fail English? That's unpossible!"

Jonathan Regarding new words created by Simpsons characters... you can't forget "yoink," which is spoken by the thief whenever anything is stolen, swiped, or grabbed from another person. I hear this one weekly.

Grammar Girl Can't make it to one of my book signings? @changinghands bookstore may be able to get you a signed copy tonight while I'm there. Call 480.730.0205

Martha My favorite mondegreen is "I led the pigeons to the flag," for "I pledge allegiance to the flag." (FYI, years ago, in the 80's I think, Smithsonian magazine had a whole article about mondegreens. You may want to look it up.)

Rob Oh, I meant to tell you at the book signing that you were the first person I heard talking about Twitter. You were early to that party!

Grammar Girl "The Simpsons" have given us words such as "d'oh" and "cromulent." Can you think of others?

Nancy Goodwin Have you seen this site? Did you secretly write it? www.apostrophe.me

Kiyo Wiesnoski
ok, so today someone asked me a rather perplexing question at work. What is the grammatically correct way to write this sentence: "There are three kinds of to's in the English language"
I know that "to" cannot take an apostrophe, but "tos" does not make any sense D:

Ron Grammar Girl rocked tonight in Cincinnati.

Check Economist magazine (Nov 7-13) , page 15 for the full page, color advertisement for Land Rover. You will find a headline that has "it's" instead of "its" referring to the car.
The advertising copywriters missed the error. Maybe they should read your book.
