Grand Opening of the Lewis Theatre and Friday Night Alive!—6:00pm

After being closed for renovations, the Lewis Theatre is reopening tonight. Join Trillium for food and drink from 6:00-7:00pm and then for Friday Night Alive! from 7:00-8:00pm. Friday Night Alive! is an informal performance event presented by Trillium Performing Arts Collective which features dance, music, theatre, comedy and the spoken word. This evening’s event features solo violinist, Adam DeGraff. Additionally, there will be a special sneak preview of Finding Home dance and movement theatre concert of original work with Samara Michaelson. Admission is $5.00.

The West Virginia Jazz Orchestra (WVJO) will present a special concert honoring the United States Armed Forces at Greenbrier Valley Theatre in downtown Lewisburg. Sponsored by GVT and Local 674, American Federation of Musicians, the event is part of GVT’s Music Series and admission is $12/person and $10/US Military Veterans. Reservations are recommended. Limited seating available.

All are invited to kick off the holiday season by spending the afternoon visiting Santa, purchasing your holiday gifts and enjoying the festive decorations and holiday treats.Children are invited to see Santa at City National Bank from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., go to the North House and make their own Christmas tree ornament and the Open Book for a coloring contest.

Families can take a carriage ride through downtown or participate in the Red River Drum Gift Blanket Ceremony. Holiday Open House event-goers are invited to bring a wrapped gift for a child to place on the blanket. All gifts will benefit the Family Refuge Center. Free hot cider will be available at the Greenspace while supplies last.

The Irish Pub will celebrate their 3rd Anniversary with musician, Brendan Sheridan. Cooper Gallery will celebrate their 14th Anniversary with artist, Donald Early and harpist, Leah Trent. Special appearances by Lewisburg’s Shanghai Parade Queen will also be had throughout the day.
