Habitat for Humanity Macedonia

Dear Lume, we're absolutely aware that this is not a homogeneous state and we have a very diverse base of families we have helped these past five years to show for it. We try to reach out a hand to anyone who is willing to partner with us, regardless of ethnicity, religion, gender, etc. What you saw on our website was only one of the 5 projects we ... See Morehave, which is the project in Veles, but we also have programs that serve communities in which the majority of the population is Roma, such as the Roma Housing Project which started in Shutka (and is open to non-Roma as well!) or where the majority is Albanian, such as the Water Supply and Sanitation project in Rashche.
That said, I am not sure we should comment on the ethnic background of our staff. I can tell you we have board members of different ethnicities, but I honestly am not sure that this is relevant... it is more important that if you look at the families we've helped you will see people of various different backgrounds who make for a colorful and varied mosaic that we call the Habitat family. Also, I can assure you that any implications of homogeneity in our staff are purely accidental - we are all incredibly different, just brought together with one goal in mind - to eliminate poverty housing in the country, and that includes every last family that lives in substandard conditions - no matter what their background. We are an organization that celebrates difference and you have an open invitation to come visit us so we can prove this to you.
Finally, I hope you don't leave our page - it's lovely to have fans who challenge us. After all, this can only make us a better organization. For now, I think we need to get around to updating our web site - it is outdated, and quite obviously misleading.

Hi Ellen, yes! you're right, but we've only had global village teams from Canada so far - no tithes.
