When states are struggling with looming huge budget deficits and legislators and former financial aid counselors are considering the elimination of State Need Grants and other financial aid mechanisms, more and more students will be unable to attend classes. Onlly those who have family wealth and means will be able to attend college. Can you spell CASTE?

Bailouts, please? I don't have any loans myself, but I do believe the vast majority of students would like this idea. Lower interest is always nice, too.

Lower interest rates would be great for students and their parents alike who got loans to help their kids afford their higher education, like Direct Loans. Making Direct Loans to community and technical college students rather than having the financial aid offices facilitate those loans thru private banks with higher interest rates.
