Hamilton Conservation Authority HCA, in partnership with City of Hamilton, has commenced a study of Stoney Creek and Battlefield Creek. The study is being undertaken in accordance with Conservation Ontario’s Class Environmental Assessment for Remedial Flood and Erosion Control Projects. This project is being considered in order to provide Flood and Erosion Control for the subject waterways, which currently are at risk.

Hamilton Conservation Authority (HCA) has opened a teaching garden in the Dundas Valley Conservation Area in memory of one of its greatest teachers, General Manager/CAO Bruce Duncan, who died following a car accident in November 2006.The Bruce Duncan Wildlife Teaching Garden is a place where schoolchildren and visitors... are able to see, touch and observe the changes over time to natural displays that assist with Ontario curriculum-based outdoor environmental education programs, but are also of interest to the casual visitor. A bird blind overlooking several birdhouses allows visitors to observe the many birds species found in the Valley throughout the year. The garden is wheelchair accessible and features interpretive panels that explain what can be seen in the garden, as well as information about important natural features elsewhere in the Dundas Valley and surrounding areas, and the wildlife species that may be found in this area.
