  • Here's our first haiku of the 2011 season: Great games do get played / In the house that Rockne built / No bull(s) about it. Go Irish! Beat Bulls!

      • Chris Azbell Did you see how bad they looked??? What happened to all the hype??? I mean 5 freaking turnovers??? Dropped ball after dropped ball, mistake after mistake they looked better last yr, the only thing that was proven after todays game is that w out Floyd they barely win any games.

      • Bobbie Denome Noyce okay, so they werent on top of things, but it was a close game, and it was a great decision bringing Rees in. Just gotta keep believing. We are ND!

      • Chris Azbell Close game doesnt cut it, they gave the game away due to stupid mistakes that shouldnt be happening.... Close isnt good enough, they should be better than that... Lack of descpline.

Chris, I think you missed a couple of important things...or we weren't watching the same game. Michael Floyd and Cierre Wood were awesome which is a given. Additional good surprises though were Tyler Eiffert, Bennett Jackson ( on Special Te...ams) and Tommy Rees, whom I thought should've been the starter based on last yr. Also, the Defense kept us IN THE GAME in the first half. MANY Freshmen were mixed in and played well, which bodes well for the rest of the year and in the future. Let's face it, David Ruffer (Mr Automatic) doesn't miss that chipshot field goal AND we RUN it in on the 2pt play for the 1.5yd line and ND Wins...I gotta say, if you watch the game tape over, take the emotion out of it, they executed most of the time. Red Zone needs work but so does PLAY CALLING. As you know being an ND Fan, games as of late ALWAYS come down to the 4th Qtr or a few plays. They really showed me something in the 2nd half when after a 1.5hr delay, they came back and played well. THEY WILL BE BETTER THIS YEAR Chris, I figure an 8-4 Record in the regular Season and a mid level Bowl Bid. Hype is, just what it is, HYPE. You gotta play the games!See More

Chris, you might not have been at the game, but as a current student i can tell you that while i agree that the game wasn't our best played, Notre Dame football is about so much more. The student section reentered the stadium cheering, star...ted singing Don't Stop Believing, and the excitement was high even after entering through the gates for a THIRD time. we are, and always will be, the FIGHTING irish. don't let one bad game take away your fight.See More

The real mettle oof an Irish fan, is you're all in, every game, every quarter, every down...IRISH Football is either in your blood, or not, and then, you are not a fan, just a front runner when they are on top...
