Helen Zille

Helen Zille May I add...Matric is an important gateway to the next phase of your life. A good matric certificate opens many doors to further study and to jobs. Study diligently, so that you can make full use of your opportunities afterwards.

Write down ur future goals on a piece of paper... Place it next 2 u/ on ur room wall... Wake up looking at ur goals every mornin and when u go 2 bed at night... This is the time 2 think about urself and not the negativity/ barriers which could keep u from achieving ur goals. Im holding thumbs...

ANC messed it up right, so that means Matric is needed, as you said, ANC government does not require Matric!!! Helen is saying that it is important to accomplish school, it shows you have "will" to complete work. in the real world, employers want motivated and productive people working for them, Matric shows you have earned that struggle. So dont tune kak regarding what she is trying to do.

Jacques get a life, or just disapear into thin air...we dont need 2face people, you think I live in NZ cause I like it, no its cause I couldnt get a job and didn't want my kids to be exposed to all the corruption in the ANC and murdered while playing outside in their yard for a cellphone, you really need HELP, Viva Helen

Good luck to all Matric students. Yes it is true that your matric result can make adifference, but not i n S.A. The young people off today must be more independant and make things work for themselves. Maybe 10 % of all matrics might get work. Rather pass your matric and work for yourself. Experience then in the market will count much more.

I am a white male who didn't finish school because i thought 'whats the point?'. I really struggled 2 get decent work and kept ending up doing jobs like barman and waitering jobs. When i was 25 i went 2 school and redid my matric. I worked my ass off, had to learn math and science from scratch but got 5 distinctions and uni admission. I'm now ... See Morefinishing my 3rd yr in mechanical engineering and have a bursary with bmw. I earn more money now as a student than i ever did working. Good matric marks are extremly important especially if u a white south african.

What is to happen to the matrics who have home schooled? Why is SA still in the DARK AGES concerning writing internationally recognised grade 12 exams.... Please try to do something about this. At the moment, a home schooled matriculant who wants to write a Cambridge matric, is required to pay in foreign currency at universities due to their "... See Morematric" being "foreign" - this is discrimination in all its forms - racism, classism and religious intolerance. It defeats the point of democracy - but this is not new to us ...

hahaha, crazy!!! well, they will soon find out that the BEE person knows jack shit, and that thier ICT department is falling to pieces and they will be forced to call in Francois. you know what i mean tho, it might be like this now, but it will get to a place where people start realizing that they need the right people behind those desks. I dont ... See Morehave a metric, but i sure as hell know what im doing and work as hard as possible to keep up to date and ive never found it hard to find a job in Cape Town. Determination will get you anything anywhere!

Sorry to hear that Gerard, but unfortunately it is like you say and we all know what it feels like to be bullied, well i certainly do, but it built character in me, but there is a positive side to it, if this doesnt happen to you and others, it will never get better, cos of this, you are now determined to correct this issue, cos you are a first hand victim of this corruption, who knows, you might create that cost effective solution for people in your situation. If you dont, some other "victim" will. Its like Zilla, she wouldnt be here if she didnt understand the need to be who she is or find her own inner determination to stand up for human rights and take action to change this to have a better lifestyle in SA! Unfortunately it is hard work, but nothing in this world that is worth your time and energy is easy.

I dont like JKF or America, but this is my favorite quote:

We choose to go to the moon. We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not only because they are easy, but because they are hard, because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win, and the others, too.... See More

Oh and Jacques get a new life, someone reckons you need it, rather move overseas and take the ANC with you!

All the negative comments are not good for the matriculants at this stage, encourage them to go for it and mould their future. Good luck to you all, just do your best.
