I remember coming back from Afgan and getting in to the airport in Chicago, we were walking to bagage claim when these ladies came up to us and throw red paint all over us and called us baby killers and we had know idea whats it was like to have kids and were over there killing women and children, I turned to the women and advised her I had 2 DAUGHTERS and it was a sign of disrespect for what they were doing to us, we didnt ask to go therre we had a job to do and thats what we signed up for.

@Shawn, that's horrible. My mom was a peace activist (still is) and she used to make us do chores for veteran's families and gave anyone who needed one a ride to the cemetary on Veteran's Day. Peace begins in the heart. I don't know the people you're talking about, but they sound pretty crazy.

And yeah, supporting soldiers seems to come more naturally when you know one.

Interesting, and I hope not too off-topic, but the works of both Paul Fussell and LtCol David Grossman explain some of the systematic isolation of returning soldiers as part of the New Army.... Read More

In the aftermath of Thursday's tragedy at Fort Hood, our community and our nation continue to mourn for those who lost their lives.

During this difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, as well as with their friends and families.

If you are looking for a way to help, our friends over at TAPS (Tragedy... Assistance Program for Survivors) are providing crucial services to those affected, including a toll-free crisis hotline open 24 hours a day, where survivors can share their grief with those who have experienced similar tragedies.

Visit www.TAPS.org for more information on TAPS, or to make a contribution to support their work for those at Fort Hood and around the country.

Thank you for your support.

This guy was "trained" by his religion to value only the lives of fellow Muslims. Everyone who cannot be converted is expendable. The problem lies in militant Islam and until the members of that faith stand up against radical violence there will be a tolerance for the heartbreaking destruction that comes when your only "garrentee" to heaven is to mayrter yourself by killing the infidel (all those who do not believe in Islam) in the name of "Allah."

There seem to be quite a few things coming to light that would have got him kicked out of the Army if he weren't a member of a protected group. People are afraid to report adverse activities by Muslims - if they don't kill you for it, our own government may prosecute you for intolerance.

i have one step better! The VA started CH 33 without a program to pay out to the schools or soldiers, It came in three phases, starting it, creating a program to pay out, then learn how to cancel payments which by the way hasn't happened yet so if you are Vet like me who asked for CH 30 and they gave you CH33 they don't know how to stop it yet.
