Institute of International Education (IIE) IIE and Freie Universität Berlin publish new book on transatlantic joint/double degree programs. The book examines institutions’ efforts to offer students meaningful international experiences in an environment that increasingly values cross-border professional collaboration, and is part of a project administered by IIE and U.S./European institutions and funded by the U.S. Dept. of Education and European Commission.

Institute of International Education (IIE) IIE launches Center for International Partnerships in Higher Education to help institutions develop and sustain partnerships with counterparts worldwide. A major new initiative of the new IIE Center is the International Academic Partnerships Program, funded by the U.S. Department of Education, which aims to help U.S. institutions identify partners in India and China.

Institute of International Education (IIE) Every year, the U.S. sends 250,000 students overseas, but less than 20 percent are students of color. IIE COO Peggy Blumenthal says this underrepresentation is due to “things that can be fixed”, such as providing better “information, support and counseling” for minority students about study abroad opportunities.
