SPLASH! THE WORLD’S BEST AQUATIC ATHLETES AS PHOTOGRAPHED
BY THE WORLD’S BEST SPORTS PHOTOGRAPHERS
SPLASH! A photo exhibit depicting the artistry, athleticism and unique imagery of aquatic athletes in action, as captured by the world’s best sports photographers, will go on display at the International Swimming Hall of Fame (ISHOF), in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA, beginning May 7, 2009. The exhibit opening coincides with the Hall of Fame’s hosting of the FINA ATT/USA Diving Grand Prix, which will bring the world’s finest Olympic divers to the United States. SPLASH! will run through the conclusion of ISHOF’s Annual Induction Dinner, which will also take place in Fort Lauderdale, on September 12.

The 2009 annual Paragon Awards will be presented on Friday, May 8, 2009, at a ceremony at the International Swimming Hall of Fame in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA. The Annual Paragon Awards, sponsored by Paragon Aquatics,are presented for outstanding contributions to: Competitive Swimming, Water Polo, Competitive Diving, Aquatic Safety, Synchronized Swimming and Recreational Swimming.

ISHOF Helps Bring On New Era in Aquatic Entertainment
When Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines launches “Oasis of the Seas” in October of 2009, it will spawn a new era for swimming and “Aquatic Entertainment.” Among the attractions on what will be the world’s largest passenger ship, is the AquaTheater, an aquatic stage that will feature the world’s best aquatic entertainers. ISHOF is partnering with Dana Kunze, President of Watershow Productions and Olympic diving coach, Dave Burgering, to help Royal Caribbean bring back the glory days of aquatic entertainment. ISHOF will host an AquaTheater preview on April 2, 2009, when the museum and pool will host an exhibition for 1,500 Cruise Line Travel Agents. ISHOF Speaking Out on Diversity In Aquatics
The idea behind ISHOF is to be the Institution that inspires Every Child to be a Swimmer. While a recent study initiated by USA Swimming reported that less than 50% of African Americans know how to swim, ISHOF believes that number is much, much higher.

ISHOF’s Bruce Wigo Honored by World Waterpark Association
Las Vegas, NEV (October 28, 2009) Bruce Wigo, the CEO of the International Swimming Hall of Fame was awarded the Kelly Ogle Memorial Safety Award at the annual World Waterpark Association’s 28th Annual Symposium and Trade Show at the MGM Grand Hotel, in Las Vegas, on Tuesday. The Award is presented annually to an individual for significant contribution to guest and employee safety.
Wigo was recognized for his work in assisting the WWA to create, produce and film a series of water safety Public Service Announcements for radio and television, featuring Olympic gold medalists Mark Spitz, Janet Evans, Amanda Beard and 2008 Olympic gold medalist Jason Lezak.
“We’re grateful for the assistance and leadership of Bruce Wigo in helping the World Waterpark Association to promote water safety, swimming and drowning prevention at waterparks and resorts throughout the world,” said WWA President, Rick Root.

ISHOF ANNOUNCES INDUCTION CLASS OF 2009
The International Swimming Hall of Fame today announced the Honoree Induction Class of 2009, consisting of 9 of the greatest names in aquatic history.
“This is clearly one of our most diverse and international classes in a long time,” said Bob Duenkel, ISHOF’s staff liaison to the international selection committee of over 150 aquatic authorities.
The class of inductees includes two honorees from the Netherlands, Russia, and the USA, and one from the nations of Italy, Japan and Great Britain. The class of 2009 inductees includes:
