Join us for marvellous, madcap, mayhem and fun, as we take a breathtaking and exhilarating magical carpet ride through a multitude of intriguing, inventive tales! Once there was a strong, brave king called Shahriyar who loved to laugh. But then he was betrayed by his wife and lost all his love of women and happiness. He became a cruel tyrant, marrying a different woman every night and having her killed the next morning. The King's advisor had a daughter called Shahrazad who possessed the magic gift of storytelling. It was now her turn to marry the King and die... On the night of their wedding she asked her sister to come an hour before dawn and ask for a story. Her sister did this and King Shahriyar became enchanted by the story - and his new wife. The next morning the Executioner arrived – but Shahrazad tempted the king with the promise of another story that night. And he could not resist. If she could tell the King a new story each night for one thousand and one nights, Shahrazad would save her own life and lives of the daughters of the city. Did she? Could she? Will She? Come and find out, as we spy into the secret chamber, and bring a multitude of those stories to life using a wild and wonderful mixture of live action physical theatre, puppetry and music! From the epic adventures of ‘Aladdin and the Enchanted Lamp’ and ‘Ali Baba’ to ‘The Tale of the Hunchback’ and ‘The Fisherman’, these stories depict a fabulous world of magic, intrigue, princesses, heroes and adventure.
