Just watched Episode 3 on the Documentary Channel and was moved to tears. I and my two sons (20 and 16, the 16-year-old is an aspiring jazz pianist) and all three of us have been influenced so heavily by The Bad Plus and E.S.T. I remember breaking the news to them, Father's Day 2008, that Esbjorn Svennson had died, a...nd it was as we had lost a family member. We were fortunate to have seen E.S.T. live at Yoshi's (Oakland) on two occasions and count that, especially now, as a blessing. Your documentary not only captured the brotherhood, the camaraderie of the band, but the sense of loss in the face and words of Dan Berglund were so apparent. I had heard nothing from Berglund or Magnus Ostrom since Esbjorn's death. This might sound strange, but your documentary gave me a sense of closure. Thus, the tears. Thank you for this important work.Read More
