Sue Turner Wicked is my favorite musical ever, but then I always loved the Wizard of Oz. You put a totally different spin on what's Wicked. Thank you for enriching my life - especially with the musical content. I can't listen to it enough - it just energizes me. Emily Miller I know that you must hear this all the time, but you are really, really, really good. Your voice has a huge range, and no notes sound strained (this is really random, but do you consider yourself an alto or suprano?). Being a performer for only a short while, I know how hard it is to connect with the audience. You were amazing with that. I CRIED at the end of Wicked.... I practically felt like Elphaba by the end of the performance. Let me leave it at this. You're amazing and for me a 13 year old girl "I have been changed, for good"

She has adjusted her voice to many shows, especially Wicked. I read in the Grimmerie that she had no problem hitting the really high and really low notes, but she really had to ... Read Morestrengthen her middle voice for Elphie. But anyway, I don't believe she would classify herself. Range is simply a limitation set on vocalists and can too often be used as an excuse to not stretch and grow.

Idina has also said that she is trained in a special technique [also especially for Wicked, which may explain why some people think her voice sounds more "refined" than in RENT] that enables her to sing full out for eight shows a week. I'm not familiar with it, but I've heard bits and pieces. The technique works to help you sing in a voice that resembles the way you speak, so that talking outside of shows does not damage your voice and you don'
