Indiana Historical Society Maybe when you pose for a picture tonight with your friends, it will end up in our collection some 90 years later. Here's an image from the 1910s. Boo!

Don't know, Shawn. What would people say about our pictures 90 years later? Probably something like "Why is that woman's hair spiked up in the back and long in the front and why does that guy's shirt say 'Ed Hardy' on it?"

A ventless fryer and ventless grill have allowed Hoaglin to expand its already great menu...when you have a chance to visit, look for some of the new items like the "More Than Grilled Cheese" and the Hoaglin signature burger on focaccia, (with sundried pesto torte, applewood bacon and carmelized onion--YUM)!

Stephen--I'm afraid we weren't able to find a photograph for you in our collection. You might try contacting the Indiana State Library...that Web site is www.library.in.gov.

I'm sorry we couldn't be of help to you on this particular request--but please don't hesitate to try us again, as we do really have quite a bit in our collections (including 1.6 million photographs).

Looks like Elkhart and St. Joseph Counties are isolated from the rest of the state. We're still the unwanted stepchildren of Indiana.

Indiana Historical Society Guess how many people lived in Indiana in 1830 - no googling. (Ray Boomhower - you are ineligible to answer.) :)

2008 census data for Indiana says we now number 6,376,792. It's easy math to calculate we've grown by more than 6 million in 159 years. That's an average of 37,735 surivving babies per year. BTW the entire 2008 US population was 304,059,724. (Yes I googled this.) Lord only knows how many cows and chickens we have now, but due to modern farming they hardly take up any space.

According to population statistics collected by the U.S. government - 4,050 American Indians lived in Indiana in 1830. That's the same year Indian Removals began in the state.
