Intelligent Kindness

Intelligent Kindness Last week the Intelligent Kindness team traveled to Detroit and Grand Rapids with John’s concert tour. In Detroit, they met Iris, a church volunteer and single mom of 5 children. Iris was struggling to feed and take care of her family, so the IK crew treated her to a shopping spree at the local grocery store. During he...r spree, she was very careful to pick out items that would feed her family for a while. In Grand Rapids, the "Stop The Spread of Disease" campaign continued.... Uncle Vinny and Kathy went downtown and handed out more than 100 personal bottles of hand sanitizer along with snacks for everyone. Thanks to Uncle Vinny and Kathy for once again showing us how to make a difference in the lives of struggling and homeless folks around the country. - TeamIK

Intelligent Kindness Being sick and homeless could kill you. This winter, the Intelligent Kindness crew is focusing on the overwhelming need of the medically underserved homeless community and launching the “Curb The Spread Of Disease” campaign. Uncle Vinny and Kathy and the rest of the IK team are visiting homeless camps and shelters to ...hand out personal hand sanitizer to help prevent the spread of illness and distribute the comforts of home to minister to the sick. They’re giving out food, sleeping bags, socks, hygiene products, propane tanks for cooking and plenty of water. So far, they’ve been to more than 15 sites. All winter, the Intelligent Kindness team will continue to make the rounds visiting the homeless to give them supplies and support for illness prevention. - Team IK

Intelligent Kindness Uncle Vinny & Kathy hosted a hot dog lunch for the homeless last week. They heard about a big community of homeless in St. Petersburg, FL, so they drove over and spent a few hours one afternoon serving 200+ hot dogs & fixings for a lunchtime feast. After lunch, the IK crew gave sleeping bags to folks who needed them. T...hanks to Uncle Vinny & Kathy for once again making a difference in the lives of the homeless.-TeamIK

Intelligent Kindness With the cold upon us this week, the Intelligent Kindness team was off to buy winter jackets for the homeless. They stopped by the shelters to find out the sizes of the children living there only to discover jackets weren’t needed! Plenty of outerwear donations had come in and everyone already had jackets! While there,... the shelter workers asked the IK team for hygiene products, so our crew delivered a van full of the items. The women were glad to get much-need diapers for there little ones, and everyone was grabbing up the shampoo and soap, ready for a nice hot shower! - Team IK

Intelligent Kindness IK GOES INTERNATIONAL! Through the many I.K. acts, nothing pleases the IK team more than to aid to the needs of children. They are the future and they learn through us the meaning of giving. The IK team was honored to touch the hearts of an all boy orphanage in Cabo San Lucas,MX. Learning that much was needed, IK went ...into action, bringing food, clothing and blankets. Playing, csinging, and hugging had no language. The team left with swelled heartscand had a time we'll never forget! Check out the photos. Love, Vinny and Kathy

Intelligent Kindness The Intelligent Kindness Network has helped folks out in unusual ways this year. Recently Uncle Vinny and Kathy met a single, unemployed mom who just found out she needed back surgery. She was worried about paying her surgery costs and her college tuition, which was late. The IK team stepped in to cover her outstanding... tuition so she could start classes again and focus on taking care of her medical issues.- TeamIK

Intelligent Kindness Our Intelligent Kindness crew saw several car accidents while on the road last week. Despite the bitter cold and bad weather, first responders like police, ambulance drivers and firemen were helping the accident victims. Uncle Vinny and Kathy wanted to let these first responders know they were appreciated. So, the team... served up submarine sandwiches for lunch to the ER staff and the responders as they returned from calls. A big ‘thanks’ to this responder crew and first responders everywhere for your hard work and dedication- you’re our heroes! - Team IK

Vinny and Kathy are my role models. I read an article in our local paper in Medford about a young homeless couple with a 2 month old baby. My heart broke, and I remembered I still had a few dollars left from my John Tesh Concert in Portland. I made a phone call to the case worker for this couple and found out what they needed. At that point I ... See Morewent into shopping mode and filled most of the needs. I then told some co-workers and friends who started amassing items to help with. The Dad is 20 with an 8th grade education, has lived on the streets from age 13 on, due to parents that were drug addicts. The Mom has a broken realtionship with her Mom and Step-Dad so there is no family help for these kids. I will be delivering these items the first of the week to the case worker who is going to help this couple for 3 years!
