Intelligent Kindness This week, Uncle Vinny, Kathy and Lucy the Dog visited Belmont Village, an assisted living facility in LA. They had a great time reconnecting with friends they met the last time they were there. Visiting with animals like Lucy can help residents feel less lonely and less depressed. A visit can offer entertainment or a ...welcome distraction from routine. Petting a dog or cat can even reduce a person's blood pressure.

Interested in finding out how you and your four-legged friend can help others... and make great memories together while your at it? Google 'Therapy Pets' online for info. -TeamIK

Intelligent Kindness If you’re looking for a great family pet and companion, why not consider adopting a dog or cat from a local shelter? Uncle Vinny and Kathy stopped by the East Valley Center in Van Nuys, CA which offers shelter and adoption services for homeless animals. They met Director of Operations Helen Brakemeier who gave our IK c...rew a tour and wish list for the facility. Uncle Vinny and Kathy returned with blankets, treats, toys and shampoo for animals living there. If you’re unable to adopt an animal, please consider helping facilities and 4-legged friends just like these by donating much-needed supplies. -TeamIK

Intelligent Kindness Uncle Vinny & Kathy know a special family who loves to help others. When team IK moved to town, this family greeted them w/friendship & love.

The family set up a homeless outreach program, served @ a food bank & more. They helped their community so much they were recognized w/the Mayor’s Service Award. Recently these ...wonderful people fell on hard times & needed help.

At the same time, Uncle Vinny & Kathy were leaving their hometown behind to become 24/7 IK road warriors. After giving away their belongings, they had one big item left - a Dodge Caravan. They knew exactly what to do w/it.

They gave the Caravan to their friends, the family who had selflessly served others for so long. There was no other place they wanted to see the van than in their friends’ driveway. And, w/much love from Uncle Vinny and Kathy, that's where it is today. -TeamIK

    • Stacey MacKenzie I want to do this for Christmas. I will be coming from Alaska to New Orleans and I need a family to "adopt"! Please, can anybody help me?

    • Stacey MacKenzie That doesn't work for me. I want to meet the people and I want them to know that there's a person behind the check who cares about them. It's how we Alaskans work!

Intelligent Kindness One of Uncle Vinny’s neighbors, a Vietnam vet, sends care packages of candy, beef jerky, smoked sausage (and more!) to our U.S. military deployed oversees when he has the extra money. Uncle Vinny and Kathy wanted to support sending this touch of ‘home’ to our oversees heroes, so they decided to fund the next shipment o...f packages. The soldiers love to receive a welcome reminder of home. There are many simple ways to show your gratitude to our troops. Here’s one idea –you can send an email message of thanks to those who bravely defend our freedom at www.USO.org!-TeamIK
