Hey, Carolyn, When my 4-yr-old granddaughter was diagnosed (14 years ago), a stranger called my son and said he was 72 yrs/old and Type 1 since a little kid, and he said he has lived a healthier life because of it. He's taken good care of himself, and he's just fine. Do not fret...just teach her to do all "the right stuff." God bless. (Mom and Gramma of 3 Type 1s.) Carol Jo

That sounds like it was a great meeting. Talking to our legislators one on one, is still the best way to let them know what their support means for us. You have made a big difference for your district!

While it was a cold and crisp fall day, the sun was shining and the skies were blue: This Friday the 13th was proving to be a lucky day. The children were quiet at first, but Representative Wu made them feel right at home.

Early on I would suggest those who are against stem cell to read Senator Hatch's letters from when stem cell legislation started. He calls himself prolife and proliving. He really has compassion to reduce suffering and care for people. The above book would be an interesting read. There is also a book called Stem Cell Wars that is written by Eve Herold that is a good read.
