Jack is a 9 year old lab/pit mix with a big heart, sweet nature... and bad luck when it comes to medical problems :( Jack was diagnosed with Megaesophagus in 12/08, Myasthenia Gravis/ Thymoma in 5/09 and Addison's Disease in 9/09. Fight on, Jack!

Jack "Dookie" Kretler I am back to feeling normal and healthy and good again. Especially when Mommy lets me help her with the Christmas baking. I am very good at cleaning dirty dishes before they go in the dishwasher!
Jack "Dookie" Kretler I have been feeling REALLY bad but last night I started to feel better. I told mommy and daddy that I would feel LOTS better if they gave me a piece of pizza. This has never worked before, but last night it did! WOW it was good.
Jack "Dookie" Kretler Lots of shots yesterday. I can't even count how many! Mommy fed me cat treats to distract me, but I still felt them. Mommy slept downstairs with me on the couch again and let me out whenever I wanted all night long. I got her to feed me in the middle of the night, too. Those shots make me hungry mungry!
Jack "Dookie" Kretler Jack's had a rough weekend. All prayers and positive thoughts for him are appreciated. We believe he'll be alright once we get him to the vet tomorrow for his monthly shot. We're hopeful he's not headed into Addisonian crisis. We're doing our best for him and will know more after the vet tomorrow morning!
Jack "Dookie" Kretler Today daddy put me up on the big mommy and daddy bed and let me lay there for a while. He never does that! I felt like Rick James!
Jack "Dookie" Kretler Mommy says I'm 9 now. I was a rescue so no one knows my birth date for sure, just that it was in early winter of 2000. Yummy treats and extra walks are all the presents I need!
Jack "Dookie" Kretler They wanted me to pose for a pic, but I really just wanted to kiss Mommy because she was gone all day!
Jack "Dookie" Kretler I like to have a job to do. I do not like to be bored. Tonight, I got to go with mommy to the pizza place and guard mommy and the pizza! Mommy and daddy say that soon, I will have the most important job of all.

Jack "Dookie" Kretler no matter how long of a walk daddy takes me on, it doesn't replace mommy being home. If she doesn't come home tonight I'm going to get my paws on one of her scrapbooks one way or another to comfort me...
Jack "Dookie" Kretler I am holding a candle light vigil at the front door until Mommy comes home...I will not leave the front door until she comes back...except to go for walks with daddy - but only so that I can better search for mommy.
Jack "Dookie" Kretler Mommy caught me sneaking into her scrapping room. I was just going to sniff the albums! They smell nice and they are chewy and crunchy all at once. And it's fun pulling them off the shelf and ripping them to shreds. But I wasn't going to!!
Jack "Dookie" Kretler I'm not allowed in mommy's scrapbooking room anymore. I'm also not allowed to go anywhere in the house unsupervised, ever again! But mommy's not quite as mad at me today. Daddy also felt sorry for me and gave me a long walk last night.
