If I got one gift for Christmas this year a JM Valentine ticket would be my number one choice. Sadly no Santa this year for me....must have been on the naughty list....lol! Being unfortunatly unemployed right now kind of cuts out a self gifting option :/ But hopefully there will still be some tickets left after the New Year and taxes might just help make my wish come true. Or not....it is a good dream though lol. Peace and Love all!

I feel SO sad every event weekend because I wish i could go! Like i've said, i hope to one day work with him making a movie I've written. so far, i think I've met online about 50 ppl who are gonna be onset, assorted employees, like assistants, gophers, etc lol ;-)

I've been reading the comments as they've come in and I imagine the adapter and the novelist would be pleased with the comments. Depressing ... nothing happened ... waste of time ... pointless ... among others. I thought that the point of the play was how depressed and 'down' people get in these hard economic times. I've worked in a section (... See Morethankfully I've left it now) where everyone kept their heads down and all the talk was about who would be the next to go for 'efficiency' or 'health' reasons.
From the summary I was expecting a low key modern domestic tragedy and that's what we got. Waste of talent and living in fear of redundancy are modern tragedies that we all may fear, tragedies about kings and assasinations or ghosts aren't the only tragedies nor are they the only ones worthy of being listened to. I imagine that if James was prepared to act in the play he 'saw' something worthwhile in it too.
I felt it was a thought provoking play, but that's just MPV.

Yes, working in an office for years I did 'get' the point, and James has often says he likes any oportunity to act in a play or a reading even if he doesn't totally go with it...or find it worthwhile...and as I said I thought he performed brilliantly.

A play can be thought provoking, but theres no way in the world anyone would reasonably expect it to be everyones cup of tea. Its just that James apart not everyone found it entertaining.
What a sad old world it would be if everybody liked the same thing or were afraid to express an opinion, so as often is the case in the arts its just a matter of agreeing to differ IMO

Jill this may get me pegged as a weirdo, but, in my mind, when i think of his as an actor/celeb i think of him as James, but, as a person, the things that make him up at a fellow human, etc, aside from the celeb/acting gig, i think of him as Jamie..its been that way for 3 1/3 years now, not something i intentionally did.

But i am prone to giving ppl in my lives names a little different than their proper names anyway. But, i usually actually KNOW them and their personality first. lol

pm the crying vs. laughing thing, alot of art is born or inspored by painful things, Kames is method, and i imagine coming up with something to bring to the plate that induces a henuine laugg is much harder than tears. Laughing doesnt leave a scar on the phsyche.

When i write, i have a HARD time with levity, but, i can write the heck out of tragedy and pain.

JMLive events in the UK are always cash only, is that not the case of US JM.com events? Mind you I for one would feel safer carrying cash around if there were always cash points nearby to get extra cash. As someone who is mobility impaired 'popping out' for more money ism't always a viable option, especially after an hour or two at an event.

the main reason for bidders having to pay in cash, is that it's not possible to accept any payments in any other form. i.e, to be able to pay with a card, the vendor so to speak would need to already have a swipe or chip & pin machine that was either connected to an existing phone line & as that is not usually the case, it's only possible to ask ... See Morebidders to pay in cash. there are some things that event managers just can't change or re arrange, this being one of them. i should know, i am one after all & there's an awful lot of trouble & planning work that goes in to these events, so please go enjoy your time at the event & i hope that your bid is successful.

I'm very eagar to see this. James in a recurring role is a BIG plus.
