Adrian Elton’s torch song, ‘Springvale’, raises the age old question that has hung ominously over every young romance that has blossomed in Melbourne’s Jewish community since time immemorial. The young male suitor trying to gauge the true depth of his fledgling relationship reflects wistfully, “Could you be the girl for me, and should I buy plots in Springvale?”.
