Joe Decker This month's Print of the Month offer is exciting, at least to me, the way the Fuji Pearl paper transforms "Dettifoss Mists II" is remarkable, just remarkable: http://rockslidephoto.com/blog/?p=611

Joe Decker Back from the Eastern Sierra, Denise and I had a fabulous time. The last few days have been busy--a jurying gig on Wednesday, then I gave a talk on the Arctic on Friday. Time to get another article up on P'crati, and next week a newspaper is sending out a photographer to photograph me, which is ... well, wait for it. :)

"I would feel less riled up about this if it wasn't for the fact that I encounter people almost daily that come to my gallery and say, "I can't believe how different your images look in prints to how they look on your web site." It's almost as if these folks are reading from the same script. Talking to other photograph...ers who both show their work online and then in large prints, I hear the same thing; how people can't believe the differences. In fact I know quite a few widely exhibited fine art photographers who refuse to show their images online because they feel that this misrepresents how their work should be seen." --Michael Reichmann ( http://www.luminous-landscape.com/essays /rant23b.shtml )Read More

Joe Decker Looking at paper samples from a print vendor I'm likely to end up using, neat to see the same image printed with different technologies, inks, papers, etc. under good (no, strike that, excellent) color management. I'm actually considering a jump to a different printing technology, but that's a longer story entirely.
