Wish my mom could attend this event. She loves jazz and would do anything to honor the memory of her husband, Juan, who lost his life to this disease.

Pancreatic cancer has the worst survival rate and is the most under funded of all major cancers. 75% of pancreatic cancer patients will die within 12 months and less than 5% survive for five years! The only way to change the horrible statistics is to raise as much money as possible for research! .....

Sandi & Rose, thank you both for the kind and comforting words. I suppose had he chose to have the trial teatments he might have died even sooner. Only God knows. Thanks for reminding me to stop playing the "what if game". Sandi my prayers are with you and your husband during this difficult time. I agree we do have to respect their decisions, but ... I think as the loved ones we want to feel that we are actively doing something or have control over something to help us make sense of things. Thanks again. Deidra

I understand the control over things, I felt helpless! You just want it to go away and it wouldn't. Good luck Sandy, remember to keep up on those doctors you are your husbands best advocate!! I kept my moms GP on board and it was the best thing I did. The oncologists are great but I feel her doctor helped her survive the 9 months. I wrote ... Read Moreeverything down and checked all her blood work myself, read all her reports. He found her blood clot and saved her life since it embulated to her lung. Keep on board and stay strong and positive!!I will say a prayer for your husband Sandi! Deidra I wish you the best!!

Good luck Kevin, and never give up hope! I lost my father 2 months ago. He was given less than 6 months, but was determined to prove the doctors wrong. He battled it for more than 2 years, always hoping that there would be a break through. With more focus and research funding I believe there will be!
