Journal of Urban Mission Happy New Year from Journal of Urban Mission! We are looking forward to our official launch in 2010, and to much mutual learning in the years to come for the sake of serving in our cities. Again, if you have an article to share with others, please consider submitting to the Journal (article submission guidelines are at http://bit.ly/8vaOmJ).
Journal of Urban Mission [Why urban mission?] The biblical drama starts in a Garden and ends in a City. The Garden itself is the seed of New Jerusalem. The cultural mandate is an urban mandate, a decree to build cities--to multiply citizenry, to construct urban architecture, to develop governing structures of shalom... to construct an urban, j...ust, and God-glorifying culture. Despite the Fall, God's urban design will triumph in the end.

Christianity expanded throughout the Roman Empire mainly through the urban poor; this is still so in today's globalizing world.
